Bio!
Jeff and Brian began playing and writing music together around the spring of 1998 after originally meeting at a New Years Eve party. Beer fueled practice sessions in Brian's basement, paced by a one beat drum machine, were a big hit with the roommates and neighbors. The search for a drummer lasted nearly a year, when Matt finally agreed to join (after being recruited for quite some time). They first played as "Straitjacket" around the Fall of 1999, and during the next year played with bands like: The Varukers, Defiance, and The Riffs.
Things were slow during the year 2000 due to various factors, including Jeff being involved in a serious, and temporarily disabling, motorcycle accident. But the band bounced back and recorded nine songs on a friend's 8-track around May of 2001. An eight-song CD was released early 2002.
The band had long realized the need for a second guitar player to achieve the sound they were looking for, but finding someone that was a good fit had proved difficult. After Julian sat in a couple of practices in early 2002, the four knew that
They recorded in July of that year and released a 5-song EP on their own label "Dead Rock Records". Since then the band has been playing a lot around Portland and Seattle, and writing new songs for future release.
Straitjacket recorded in April 2003 from which a 7" was released on Dead Rock Records, around August of 2003, and re-released on Pelado Records on April 20th, 2004.
Two new 7"s, one called "Enemy" on Jonny Cat Records, and a split on TKO Records are due out Feb. 2005, as well as an upcoming full length on TKO Records to be released in May.
